About Us

Cooper Street Capital is a vertically integrated private equity real estate company. We identify value-add and income-producing multifamily properties with growth potential in select cities. We manage the complete life-cycle of each asset in-house from acquisition, to operations, to sale. The day-to-day operations of each asset are carried out by CSC Management, a subsidiary property management company wholly owned by Cooper Street Capital.

Cooper Street Capital is motivated by opportunities to develop, retrofit or repurpose existing commercial real estate. As a boutique real estate investment firm, Cooper Street Capital has the expertise to source opportunities from multiple markets and the flexibility to explore creative ways to structure and finance acquisitions that provide for sustainable and superior returns.

The value to investors comes not solely in the completion of any acquisition. In the years since we began, we have come to understand how imperative it is to actively manage every asset. We believe that without strict oversight and painstaking attention to detail, no real estate asset will ever reach its full potential.

Cooper Street Capital aims to minimize downside risk through targeted acquisitions. These acquisitions provide for stable cash flows and seek to capture upside potential for investors through physical renovations and operational improvements.

Brandon Cooper

President // Managing Partner

Brandon has spearheaded the acquisition of over $500 million worth of real estate assets since starting his own real estate investment firms six years ago. Prior to founding Cooper Street Capital, Brandon was the co-founder of two other real estate investment firms, Maroon Peak Partners and I-95 Ventures. Before his ventures in real estate, Brandon worked for Merrill Lynch and previous to that, The Center for Middle East Peace in Washington, D.C. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bates College and was on the cross country skiing team. Brandon currently lives in his hometown of Aspen with his wife and two daughters.

Vice President // Director of Acquisitions

Prior to joining Cooper Street Capital, Matt worked with the US Delegation to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France. As an economist, Matt executed several large research projects related to the international trade system and the economics of corporate governance frameworks. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French Language from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Science in the International Political Economy from the London School of Economics. He currently lives in San Francisco where he can be found running marathons, exploring quiet coffee shops, and escaping to the mountains to foster his love of skiing.

Cheri Luoma

Director of Accounting

Cheri comes to Cooper Street Capital with over 30 years of accounting experience across multiple industries. She holds a BA in accounting from The College of St. Benedict and also holds an MBA from WGU. Cheri is a Certified Management Accountant. Prior to CSC, Cheri was a financial analyst at CommScope for 4 years managing the reporting for 13 European and Asian manufacturing plants. Cheri also has extensive Accounting experience in construction and real estate. Cheri has lived in Colorado for a year and a half and loves every minute of it. She has two dogs and a cat, and a son who attends college at UNC Greeley. At CSC, Cheri is leading all finance and accounting for our entire property portfolio in all regions.

Brodie graduated from the University of Colorado in 2016, earning his degree in Finance. Out of college, Brodie jumped into the property management space, beginning his career with Alpine Property Management Aspen (APM). He quickly advanced into the role as Head Property Manager. While with APM, Brodie was instrumental in growing the company’s exclusive rental portfolio by over 50% while leading the property management of over 30 individual properties, ranging from condominiums to mountain estates. Brodie is from Pueblo, CO and currently resides in Aspen. Brodie can be found skiing, horseback riding, and promoting his hometown of Pueblo.

Director of Investor Relations

By leveraging his background in wealth management, investor relations, and equity research, Robert has built a track record of helping investors source suitable risk adjusted investments and growing their net worths. Most recently, Robert was Associate Director of Investor Relations at RealtyShares, where he managed a portfolio of over $250 million in client assets and helped grow the company’s client portfolio by 45%. At Cooper Street Capital, Robert is in charge of all Investor Relations. He graduated from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a dual degree in Economics and Psychology.

Regional Manager: Albuquerque + West Texas

Jadit graduated from the University of New Mexico with a pre-law degree and business minor. She has been in property managemeent for the last 15 years; she began as a leasing consultant and has worked her way up to the regional property manager position which is why she truly understands every level of the field. Jadit has been responsible for all general operations in CSC’s New Mexico Market since February 2019. Jadit was born in the Dominican Republic, and has been a resident of Albuquerque for the past 19 years. She currently lives there with her husband and 15-year old son.

Kristil started her career in Property Management 9 years ago as a Leasing Consultant in California and quickly worked her way up to be a Regional Manager.  During this time of her career she was awarded Rising Star, CEO choice award, and for several years and multiple properties, she was awarded Property of the Year and Manager of the Year. After moving to Texas and getting her Real Estate License, she joined Cooper Street Capital as a Community Director, and then grew into the Regional Manager role. Kristil is goal driven, strives for perfection and is always mentoring her employees for growth. When she is not working, you can find her with her husband and two dogs either outdoors, doing a DIY project on their home, or shopping.

Regional Manager: San Antonio

Tracy is originally from Wisconsin but grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She has been in property management for 20 years and fell in love with the industry early on during college. Tracy began her career in Austin as a part-time leasing agent and then moved up through the ranks to her current position as a Regional Manager. She has worked in Property Management all throughout Texas, and in almost every position: Leasing, Marketing, Assistant Manager, Renovation Specialist, District Manager and now Regional.  As a result of her experience, she is able to coach and lead her team knowing every aspect of a property, and more broadly, of the industry. Tracy’s favorite aspect of her role is her team. She loves to develop people and foster her team’s dynamic. As the San Antonio Regional at CSC, Tracy’s biggest goal is making sure that everyone is meeting their leasing and occupancy goals. Tracy started with CSC as a Community Director and was moved quickly between San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Austin as she had such a significant immediate impact to improve properties wherever she went.  When Tracy is not running between properties in San Antonio and New Braunfels, she is with her 13 and 19 year olds being an amazing mom.

Maggie Cooper

Head of Hiring + HR

Maggie leads all employee hiring and HR for Cooper Street Capital and CSC Management. Additionally, she oversees the sustainability initiatives, company website, and marketing efforts. Maggie joined Cooper Street Capital after having spent her career working in the Education sector. Maggie began her career as a middle and high school teacher with KIPP charter schools, then transitioned to leading Hiring and Communications for a charter school organization in the Bay Area. In this role, she played a pivotal role in growing the organization from a staff of 40 to 165 in order to serve over 1,500 students. Maggie led all recruiting and hiring, and focused on organizational strategy, teacher sustainability, equity approach, partnerships, and Communications (annual reports, website, social media, newsletters, and donor communications). Maggie holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in Psychology and Education Policy. While Maggie’s heart will always be in San Francisco, she loves her new home in Aspen, CO where she lives with her husband and two daughters and enjoys exploring the beautiful mountains via biking, hiking, and skiing.

Brian joins Cooper Street Capital with 10 years of Accounting experience.  Prior to joining the team, Brian started his own bookkeeping company, iBalance Pro Bookkeeping, in 2017 and was also at Valley View Hospital for 3 years before that.  He has Accounting experience from several different industries such as Hospitality, Restaurants, Healthcare, Homecare, and Real Estate. Brian grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley and graduated with a BS Degree in Business Administration at Colorado Mountain College. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, playing basketball, and taking long hikes with his wife and son.

Nick joined Cooper Street Capital in July 2020 after graduating from Bates College with a dual degree in Economics and Studio Art. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and is always interested in learning something new about business. Nick grew up outside of Boston and moved to Portland, OR with his family before heading back east for college. When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find Nick fly fishing on one of the many local trout streams, whitewater rafting on the Colorado River, or taking runs on the mountain.

Accountant

David joined CSC in 2020 after moving to Aspen from Dallas. Prior to that, he worked as an Accounting Manager doing rural economic and infrastructure development, and as a Government Auditor in Mexico. David has a degree in public accounting from Juarez University in Durango, Mexico. He is positive, and likes challenges and helping others. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, running, and biking with his family and dog.

Courtland graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2017 earning two degrees in Economics and Public Policy. After graduating, Courtland moved to Houston where he became an Oil and Gas Broker for Refined Products. After a year with the firm, he decided to move back to Colorado to start a property management company with his childhood friend. As the Head of Property and Administrative Management for Eagle Perch Investments, LLC he was able to secure and manage 7 properties in western Colorado ranging from cattle ranches to private estates. Courtland is from Aspen, CO and currently lives in Woody Creek. When not managing properties he can be found dirt biking, skiing, or hiking all over the valley.

Assistant Regional Manager: Albuquerque + West Texas

Hugo was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico and raised in Albuquerque. He has lived in ABQ since he was 4 years old so his love and knowledge of the communities shines through his work. Hugo began his career in Property Management in 2012 as a leasing agent and has worked his way up through every position: Leasing, Assistant Manager, Community Director and now Assistant Regional. Hugo began with CSC as a Community Director and proved his skill with tremendous results at Courtyards Apartments (232 units). His favorite parts of the industry are the opportunities to meet different people and working with his amazing teammates. He also loves to teach and influence others. Hugo is the proud father of two beautiful girls who are 6 and 2 years old. Outside of work Hugo loves to play soccer and basketball, and is also a chess player. Hugo’s smile is contagious and he is full of positive energy; he is known as a go-getter and someone who strives to be the best at everything he does.
